Garage Door Opener Problem?

I have a garage door opener that doesn’t work during midday hours. Thee glare from the sun is impeding the sensors. I unhooked them and have to hold down the button to close the garage. Right now, during the day, I have to unhook and lower the door and then close the automatic opener (not so automatic). Is there anything else I can do?

Info:
Craftsman 1/2 Horsepower 315 MHz
Model 139.53930DM

Tried:
Re-Aiming Sensors
Unhooking Sensors
Punching Sensors (Kidding)

PLEASE HELP

try gluing or taping a pvc coupling around the sensor..this should shade the sensor from sunlight but still allow the laser to beam through it. you can find pvc couplings in any hardware store for really cheap i prefer super glue

One sensor is a transmitter, one is a receiver. Sometimes, you can solve this problem by switching them. (You can use the same wiring, but you may have to switch it at the opener. Depends on the brand.)

    buy new sensors
