Garage door won't open with remote?

One day it just decided not to open with the remote. I changed the battery, but that wasn’t it. It is an Overhead door touch n go model 100. I opened it up and there are no dip switches in the receiver or opening mechanism, so I don’t think I can get a universal remote. I can’t find the owners manual online either. There is a reset button but I don’t know what to do with it. It’s an old model, but it seems to have a reversal mechanism, so it can’t be that old.

You have one of the best operator overhead made but it is very out dated if you can open the door with wall button, the radio receiver is bad if wall button don’t work check the safety switch the motor starter and you can call overhead door and they will help get you going Good Luck

  2. me says: Will send a new receiver and remote – you will have to look at the model to find out what frequency it runs on – really simple!!….cost about $40.00.

As you know this is an old unit without a safety for children and pets…You may want to consider getting another unit.

does it operate with the wall button? If so it would eliminate a fuse. do you have another remote they usually have two and does it work? then it would be the remote.

The system must be trained to recognize individual remotes. It SOUNDS as if the programming was lost. It MAY be possible to retrain it to recognize the current remote. If not, a ‘universal’ remote should work. The key is to find out how to program your opener.
